2004 X TYPE JAGUAR RINGING BEHIND STEERING WHEEL

Hello! I have a 2004 X Type Jaguar which has lately been doing a ringing sound that comes from like the left side of my steering wheel or behind it. This sound is almost like to phone and it only occurs when I turn it on or right after I turn off the car. Do you have any ides what this problem may be? Should I worry about it?

SOURCE: Siffness with steering , squeaking noise from the front wheel.

Low on fluid in the pump, if it leaking from the steering rack then it needs replacement, If theres is a squeal then the belt is loose or the pump itself is bad. If you have a bad creaking noise then the ball joints need replacement, bad ball joints can lock up the steering but the worst it can do is drop the front of the frame to the ground and which could be very dangerous when driving..

SOURCE: need to replace the left front wheel bearing on my wife's car

Too bad I am not at work I could call on a price for a bearing. To be honest that is not too bad of a price on a bearing installed. Most Jag parts need to be purchased from Jag. A typical price for a sealed hub bearing unit is about $140 retail for a chevy corsica(just did 2 on one on monday) to about $300-400 on a ford super duty. and that is not including labor. You need air tools, a torque wrench and lock tight thread locker for this job. And something to remove any corrosion from mounting surfaces
1. jack up car, take wheel off.
2. remove brake caliper
3.remove rotor
4.remove whats holding bearing on. Either one big nut on outside or three to four bolts that hold it to the knukle.
this is how most cars are now,if its rear wheel drive its a peice of cake ,fwd is a little more difficult.

The automatic adjuster on my 1998 XKR steering wheel has stopped working - it just 'clicks' as if a cog has worn and will not come forward. (it still moves up and down)
Anyone any ideas please. John.

Recently had a front wheel collapse onmy s type jaguar ive had it fixed but the DSC light is on and ABS is coming on under breaking on drivers side front wheel any ideas

the jaguar front wheel bearing comes complete with a abs sensor and bearing cover if someone has removed the cover it sounds like the air gap between sensor and the reluctor ring is to great or has someone renewed just bearing and not the hub unit like you are ment to do? have a good look at the rear of the bearing cover.

How to clean the abs tone ring on a 2004 X-Type Jaguar

Sometimes the Tone ring can be cleaned and the problem is corrected. It has to be carefully inspected to be sure it hasn't split or become broken or teeth are missing. Spinning the rear wheel will involve jacking up the back of the vehicle on jack stands so the wheel can be rotated for inspection of the ring.

My 2000 s type jaguar air bag light stays on and also recently the battery light comes on but not always, i have replaced the alternator and had a dianostics check and they say there is no problem on the...

the most likely cause of the air bag prob is the steering wheel ribbon connector module behind the steering wheel it is going open circuit intermittantly the battery warning sounds like a differant issue. the car you have had big problems with corroded wiring at the front end ie.around the front bumper/engine bay area so perhaps the battery warning light may a cause of corroded wiring
