If the fluid level is correct, the bearings in the pump could be failing.

SOURCE: changing water pump 2000 ford focus

Changing a water pump is pretty basic. Since the coolant system is a closed system you only need to be concerned with that system. For instance you since you have to mess around with it anyway you might as well change the thermostat and flush the coolant system. Make sure your radiator hoses are in good shape and that's about it.
If you have basic mechanical skills and tools you will have no problem replacing a water pump.

As far as information with the actual replacement there are a number of experts here including myself that could explain how to do it.
However no matter how good our explanations are it just can't compare to a good repair manual.
A repair manual for your car at Auto Zone would likely cost between $12 and $15. It is a great investment if you are going to keep your car for any length of time. When you sell, it shows the buyer you took the time to maintain and repair it right.
I personally like Haynes Manuals.
I hope this helps.

Makes loud noise like belt pulley is going out

If it's high pitched it may just be your power steering pump or may be your alternator bearings, or it could be an air leak or any other bearing, or it could just be that you need a new belt, sometimes they are stronger than the time that was given to them, you have to open the hood and listen around to pinpoint the sound.

Hard to steering

do u have any power steering fluid in ur pump? This will cause it to steer hard and should also be making a high pitch whining noise. I believe u need a new power steering pump and if the hoses going to the pump are leaking, then you will need to replace them as well.

Ford Focus - 2007 Zetec 1600 A high pitch whine is coming from the engine. Occurred yesterday after restarting the car started after a 10 mile drive ad being parked up for an hour in a multi storey car...

Check your power steering fluid level. If it is low that is probably what is causing the noise. The pump is running dry. If that is the problem it means you have a leak somewhere. I have had this issue with my Focus for awhile. I just check the fluid often. I don't fix things until I absolutely have to. Check your manual my Focus uses transmission fluid for the power steering system.

1999 Ford Ranger Front right brakes are making a grinding sound and a high pitch when i turn left, Do you know what it is ?

the grinding sound and the high pitch sound may not be related.
the grinding in the brakes means it is time to replace the brake pads / shoes and either replace or repair the discs and drums.

the high pitch noise that you are hearing while turning is more likely caused by a worn belt, low power steering fluid, or a faulty power steering pump.

Although it could be indicating something more serious like hub bearings going out, your best bet is to take it to a front end shop that offers free estimates and have them diagnose it in person.

hope this helps.

The belt in my 01 Dodge Dakota squeals badly. Started when I had my power steering pump replaced. I tried changing the belt and the tensioner, but still squeals. Is it possible the pulley on the power...

excess mechanical drag from the pump can cause the belt to slip and squeal, but before focusing on the pump I'd check the condition, tension and alignment of the belt. I might even try cleaning all the pulleys with an aerosol brake cleaner and install a new belt, particularly if the current one has more than 50,000 miles on it. It might be that the squeal is coming from or caused by a different belt-driven accessory.
A more typical noise from a power-steering pump is a high-pitched whine, not a squeal. Usually, if the steering wheel is stationary, meaning that the steering rack is not "asking" for assistance from the high-pressure fluid from the pump, there's little or no noise

Have 93 Chevy G 30 Have a High pitch whine that changes with rpm

This could be anything from the pump in the transmission to the alternator bearings/bushings to the power steering pump. Could be an idler pulley bearing, but I doubt it.
Hint: If the noise is very high-pitched, check the alternator. If it is a lower, medium-high-pitch sound that changes some when you turn the wheels, check the power steering pump. If it is almost like a moan or a "Whooo" sound, that's the transmission pump.

When started, the engine has a high pitch squealing noise. This noise may or may not stop with the warming of the engine. I have already replaced the belt, belt tensioner, and had the alternator tested. ...

Hi,
My first thought would be that a bearing on a rotating element is going out. Since you stated you checked the alternator and replaced the tensioner, I would next, focus on possibility of water pump, power steering pump or A/C compressor. Maybe you can isolate the sound to determine which.
I would even go so far as to dowse them with WD40 at the pulley bearing locations, one at a time.
Hope this helps... Good luck!
