How to open key fob to replace battery?
I just figured out how to change the battery in the Advanced (keyless) fob for my 2010 Mazda CX9. You just need to take out the physical key, and use a small flat-head screwdriver to pop off the back cover. Then there is a black battery cover with an o-ring that just pulls up to reveal the CR-2032 Battery. Here are some pictures to explain better:
I used a very small screwdriver - glasses-repair size, and it was easier to wedge in and pry the fob open than a full sized flat head.
Of our 2 fobs, one turned out to be the loose battery and the other a dead battery. Taping the one cover down did the trick, so I taped the other in place when I replaced that battery, just for extra help.

I'm not sure where' the screws are but basically You need to remove the panel on the rear door, then once the panel (interior trim) has been removed you should see a lock mechanism which will be screwed/bolted in place. Easier and cheaper then buying a brand new lock mechanism (unless you want to buy brand new) is going to a wreckers and finding your car model and get it that way (yes it's used but it'll probably save you tons of money vs the dealership) Best Regards.

Bring it to a "Batteries Plus" type store; they can repair the fob if it is ony a broken battery clip. They did it for me for free! IF it is not the fob, then bring it to a dealer??
