While driving truck makes a humming sound in drive now no reverse

1995 chevy surburban 4wheel drive with a 4L60 transmission under 2 years old the truck will pull forward in neutral as well as all drive functions but will not move in reverse and also while driving truck makes some kind of whinning or humming noise do you think trans reverse gear is gone out maybe it needs rebuild

    I pulled into the drive just now and the truck wouldnt go into park. It still read reverse and the shifter felt loose. I went back and forth from drive to park and it took awhile before it would actually go into park.

If you have no reverse then yes it needs to be rebuilt. as far as the whining it could be in one of the differentials. or in trans? just depends on where you hear it

the reverse sun gear shell is a very common problem with the chevy 4l60 transmissions. the trans will need to be taken out of the truck and repaired.
