RUNS ROUGH WHEN AIR TURNED ON, LOOSE RPM'S

When I turn the ac on, if the engine is at idol, it will actually drop my RPM's so low that it kills my engine. It is somewhat affected by turning the heat on but majorly affected by the AC blower. I can only use my AC if I am driving more than about 15 mph so the RPM's stay high.
Also, I have an issue with the instrument panel occasionally. Without any known cause, I will occasionally turn my car on to find the gauges flickering and completely unresponsive. I will drive for a few miles while they flicker at the zero position and they will beep as if I just turned my key to the ignition position and they will all return to the proper positions.

Why is it that when i turn on my ac my car idol drops low and the car turns off

If you gassed the ac system your self then it mat be overfull and that is why it is not working and if you did no check for leaks (why else would need gas) then it may be all pumped out . The AC compressor takes a lot of power to drive and all cars loose around 300rpm's when it cuts in so if you have an idle too low then it will drop below needed idle rpm's . Most cars have a compensating unit the raises the idle rpm when the ac is working so check out your system for a faulty unit there.

My nissan frontier runs fine until I turn on the air conditioner, then it begins to run rough.

if it runs rough only at idle with the AC on then it osunds like a the idle solenoid that causes the vehicle to idle up when the ac is on. if its during the entire RPM range then you might want to check your alternator or battery, perhaps one of them isn't supplying enough power to run the engine, lights and A/C

Hello, I have a 1990 Ford F150 4.9l Auto 2wd. I have had problems with my truck running rough when i start it up. It runs ok for about 5 seconds with some miss. but then after the idol drops down to under...

sounds like an intake leak / getting to much air at low rpm . spray a (tiny amount) of tractor starter fluid near the intake base and see if the rpm speeds up if it does it's leaking you need new intake gaskets, or a hose is leaking , get a vacum guage to test it.

YOUR ENGINE IS IDLING LOW.MOST CARS WHEN YOU TURN ON AC THE PCM WILL INCREASE IDLE SPEED TO KEEP ENGINE FROM STALLING OUT.I WOULD HAVE THE IDLE SPEED CONTROL CHECK OUT AT THE DEALERSHIP.THEY WOULD HAVE TO ADJUST YOUR IDLE SPEED.SINCE MOST IS PCM CONTROLLED.

1992 chevy blazer idols too low when engine is cold it idols around 800 rpm but when it warms up it drops down to around 400 rpm n alittle lower when i put it in gear

The problem is in the idle air control motor. It is mounted on the throttle body with two bolts, you can pull it off and make sure it is not caked with carbon also check where it mounts on the throttle body and make sure it is not caked with carbon.
