I have a 2005 Kia Sorento V6. When the car is not running the fan blower will switch to defrost and work properly, but after the car runs, the blower will only work in the face or across the midsection of the dash. It works in all speed but will not transfer back to the defroster. Any help appreciated.

did you check the coolant level? , is a good place to start, a low coolant will make the car running hot, also check if the radiator fans are runing when the car reach the normal temperature, usually in the middle of the gauge..other than , I recommend you to take it to your mechanic to be checked for leaks in case is loosing coolant
If the blower moter only works on hi speed it is the blower motor resistor that is bad. The blower motor resistor is located under the passenger side of the dash next to the blower motor. It is not necessary to remove the blower motor to change the resistor.
I had a similar problem with AC & Heater fan,it works on and off, and sometimes if the road was rough it runs, So I had to remove the fan clean it with a blower from dust and debris, then I installed it back and it is running ever since for more than a year without having to replace it.
