1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Sl 4: My daughter's car has started slipping out of gear when the engine gets warmed up. We're pretty sure it's the transmission but would like to know if this is something that can be repaired without replacing the whole tranny. We'd also like to get a ball park of what it's going to cost to fix it.
Thanks!
Ok this is an internal transmission problem, the 1st thing to do is check the fluid level in the trans, do this only on a HOT transmission otherwise you will overfill the trans and damage it more, if the fluid is full and clean then the trans will need to be torn down, but this does sound like a low fluid level problem.
PLEASE RATE THIS SOLUTION, THANKS

It's an automatic; when you're driving down the road it will just slip out and when you push on the gas there's no power like it's in neutral....
just had the transmission flushed; wish it were that simple..thanks though.
I had the same problem. They rebuilt my trans and 5 days later it started again. not sure if I paid 1700.00 for nothing.
Please explain this issue more completely, auto or standard trans, what gear does it slip out of?
