4 wheel drive on my jimmy won't engage

The 4 wheel drive light indicator for both high & low drive light, but the truck stays in 2 wheel drive. I removed one of the fluid nuts under the traNSMISSION HOUSING and unintentionally lost about a pint of fluid

    99 jimmy wont go into four wheel either four wheel hi and lo lights come on but it still wont go.

Try disconecting the battery to reset service light may not solve the problem but should allow u to put truck into 4 wheel

My 4 wheel drive will not ingage into 4 wheel high, only 4 wheel low. I have replaced the dash switches and the thing on the transfer case . what else can I do ?
If you can't get 4 high, then you can't get 4 low either. You can get the transfer case to go into 4 low, but unless the front axle is engaged, you will still be in 2 wheel drive. There is a vacuum switch that engages the right front wheel. The left wheel is engaged full time. On earlier models, this vacuum switch is located unerneath the battery tray. It is prone to become disconnected from the vacuum line. Check this and all other vacuum lines that are connected to the 4wd system. The way I test my 4wd Jimmy is to find a dirt or gravel road or parking lot and accelerate hard from a standing start in both 4hi and 4lo. If 4wd is not engaged your back wheels will spin.

I don't know how to get my 2001 kia sportage into four wheel drive
On small shift behinde gear lever there is 3 settings. H4 = 4 wheel drive high range, L4 = 4 wheel drive low range, h2 = 2 wheel drive high range. as soon as jou engage to 4 wheel drive a green light on the dash board will appear to indicate that the car is in 4 wheel drive. if not check fuse - check air pipes at front wheels. 4 wheel drive will not engage (1995 S10 Blazer)
I had this same problem a few years ago. In my case I didn't use the 4 Wheel Drive very often and the tranfer would hang in 2 Wheel. I fixed mine by tapping on the transfer case with a hammer while my wife switched back and forth from 2 Wheel to 4 Wheel.

The switch to engage 4 wheel drive is not working.
No the switch is okay there is a transfer case control module that blinks tose lights when there is a problem. You need to fing a compatible scan tool and get the codes from the transfer case controller to diagnose the fault otherwise it will just stay in 2WD.
