Replace crankshaft sensor? Jeeps are notorious for electrical problems...
SOURCE: 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ won't
if your jeep has a harder time starting when its warm as well, i would say the throttle position sensor is bad, or dirty. mine does tah same thing. i just live with it. its cheaper than replacing it.

I would be really careful with doing this repair as this is very dangerous. You need to relieve the fuel pressure by pulling the fuel pump fuse and starting the truck. Drain the tank with a siphon pump. Remove any exhaust or other parts that are in the way, loosen the straps and support the tank with a floor jack and a block of wood. There are several hoses, and a few wire connectors to disconnect and you may want to replace those hoses while you're down there. Once you put the new tank in, reconnect the electrical and hoses, raise the tank and strap it back up. Put anything else back together you took off the truck.
Personally, I would take this in to get fixed as this is dangerous work (I did mention that). I you do this anyway, use your head and buy a proper container to hold the gas in , as well as jackstands and a class "B" fire extinguisher. Disconnect the battery and don't smoke or use a drop light under the car, and I will not accept responsibility for this.

Has any one soled this yet???????? Because I have the the same prob. but mine is only when it is could out blow 65 it will start but I have to keep my foot on the gas like a carb with no choke

you need to have it connected to an OBD2 machine and watch if you are missing the cam sensor showing RPMs
or if your missing crank sensors RPMs,
it could be a wiring problem or computer if your seeing the RPMs from both sensors, and the last thing i would check is hooking up a fuel gauge to the reed valve and watch what fuel pressure you have while cranking,if the cam sensor is the culprit it will turn the fuel off after the cranking.

have u ck out the ignition switch [not the key & tumblers],, or the neutral safety switch to see if u have power ,,also seen broken wire at solenoid on starter too,,hope it helped,,

I have already replace fuel pump and strainers, gas tank is already remounted with skid plate. Previously, before repair, the engine would run and run fine and after about 5-10 miles shut down and not restart.... then it would sit for at least 24 hours and restart again and run for 20 -30 miles and then die and not restart. I am getting intermediate fuel pressure on fuel rail with pressure gauge attached. Highest pressure has been (with new pump and strainers) 45psi...but it would not hold consistent pressure or start engine. Just crank and crank with pressure on fuel rail ranging from 5 psi to the 45 psi but not holding consistant pressure. replaced distributor and rotor (needed too anyway). did not check while distributor cap off if rotor was turning. No start engine...checked at spark plug with tester and no spark through tester to plug. I need to check coil. Throttle body sensor replaced last year when engine was running and would not idle consistent....I do not remember how to check coil. It is like the fuel pump is not getting consistant voltage to keep it going and with no fire at spark plug? So, much of my research on problem has lead me to need to test crankshaft sensor. I have checked relays in under dash box and they test good...but I will pull them out and re check and clean terminals.....I am running through and checking things but I need her running in two weeks....thanks!
