I've had a problem where my keys are in my pocket and occasionally my caravan's automatic sliding doors open because another key presses the sliding door button twice within 5 seconds. Makes for a very unsafe vehicle especially walking away from it after just parking it and the thing opens up. My solution was to disable the sliding door feature only on the remote as I can open it manually then hit the button to continue automatically... This was simple by inserting a piece of paper within the remote directly behind the sliding door buttons. Question, is there another way to do this? Some way to change the remote so you have to kit the sliding door button 5 time or more for it to open?

sounds like the door sensor switch is malfunctioning and when almost closed it reacts like it is blocked (such and kid in way) and opens for safety. try flushing trach with hose and try again, if not u need a good repair manual such as chiltons($25 most parts stores ) or see mechanic

chrysler/dodge minivan keyfobs may contain a button for the automatic door/hatch when it is not equipped does the overhead console contain a switch for the door or hatch? if it does then somethings wrong if it doesnt its just another button on your keyless :)
Testimonial: "Thank you-and I am unsure if it is equipped with that service. Perhaps I will call Dodge. Thank you"

You may have a defective key-less entry module (may be part of another module on this model), you need to have the dealer scan the system with a special electronic test tool to see what is causing this problem.
