Change fuel filter, plugs and wires.
Check for any vacuum hose leaks.
Check gas cap to make sure seal is not broken
Check fuel pressure and spark to all cylinders.
If check/service engine light is on, have an engine diagnostic test done to pinpoint exact problem.

Does anyone know if a Gage Cluster with Tachometer from a 1998-2003 S-10 pickup with automatic transmission will work in a 1999 GMC Sonoma without a Tachometer and a 5 speed manual transmission? I installed one in my 1999 Sonoma and the Tach, Oil Pressure, Temp, and Volt Meter worked, but the Gas Gage and Speedodometer and odometer didn't work and most of the warning lights stayed on including the battery light. I removed the gage cluster and reinstalled the original until I can figure out how to adapt the one with the Tachometer to work in my truck. Can any one help me figure out what to do to make it work?
