My 97 has a place in the dash under the radio to insert your ignition key
where you can turn the passenger side airbag off. If I were you i wouldnt pull the fuse for it because it could tell the computer that there is a problem that could
cause other problems. Just turn it off with your key.
Thank you Matt, but yours must be newer than 1997 because on the 1997 model, which I have, does not have the key option. It was an oversight on this model. There are to fuses only, 18 and 19. And I believe 18 is passenger and 19 is driver.
Rick
sorry about the misinformation Rick. I have learned over the years that my truck is kind of a hybrid. The VIN pulls it up as a 98 but I have run into a couple issues where I need a part for a 97 to replace an OEM part on mine.

SOURCE: electric window cable solution
My drivers side quit working. I took the door/window assembly apart and found that a small plastic clip had worn/broken. I modified it to hold the cable securely. The problem I had was knowing how the cables routed in the door and window assembly to put it back together. I found an online picture of a new one and routed my cables per the photo. It has not given me problems since. Time invested, about 3 hours. Cost was $0. If you buy a new one, cost is about $80 (online) and time would be about 2 hours. If you have the $$, buy a new one.

SOURCE: Window regulator for a dodge dakota sport 4x4 2002
they are not too bad, you have to find althe screw on the panel and then they have some plastic fasteners that pry up usually. Before you pry on them make sure all screw from top to bottom are out.Try to lift upward on door panel if it doesnt slide upward they are the pry out pop out clips mentioned above.you always start at the bottom.Work your way around..you have to remove the door handle and the switch cover should just pop out.You will need something to hold window one you are able to remove the regulator to window mount bolt The rest is really simple you look at new regulator and have it front of you and you will know what need to be done including the removal of plug to the motor. Be care ful and also once you remove the mount bolt from glass to regulator allow window glass to go downward to get the regulator part down and awy from the glass,Once it is down slide window up all the out of way and wedge it up.Remove and install new one. Good luck

I also have a 97 Dodge Dakota. On the 97 your model they did not offer the key option to turn it off. It was an oversight that year. They only have fuse number 18 and 19 To turn off the airbags. Number 18 is for the passenger airbag, and number 19 is for the driver side airbag.
