Car coughs and still wants to run after i've turned it off.

Should be on upper side of tranny. some times you could keep driving and that would work the air out by it`s self.if not you could have air leak in the system. marv

About all that is left on the list is the turn signal switch.
Do you have power in and out of the switch ?

when you turn the car over can you hear the fuel pump whineing?

Not likely heat related

I would guess your fuel pump is worn out
& occasionally stops from mechanical or
electrical issues

You could check the pressure with a gauge
attached to fuel rail but on a 1992,I'm guessing,
again, that it is the original or second pump

You may just have to replace it to solve the problem

You should have had it properly diagnosed & all
issues resolved six months ago,now you may have
issues you can't afford to repair.

You obviously need professional help from a repair
shop & soon

would do anything other than take your money,NO

run the fault codes
2 possible problems
1 low fuel pressure --pump or tank not venting properly
2--- failed cat converter blocking the exhaust at high rpm

Ive posted a hint for cleaning the throttle onmy sight, They tend to get gummed up, and they just wont maintain idle. Try the hint it works, Thanks

Sounds like you may have a non-connection on one of your spark plug wires or the ignition coils. Certainly would explain the lack of power and and rough idling or running.
You will also want to confirm you haven't rotated any wires. See illustration for firing order:
