Question about 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
Several weeks ago, I ran out of gas on the highway because my gas gauge was showing 1/4 of a tank. Trying to start it dry (not realizing I had run out of gas) destroyed my fuel pump, and my battery magically died overnight after I had it towed home. So in the last three weeks, I've replaced: the battery, the fuel pump, all four spark plugs, and the fuel filter. After all this work, my car cranks over, the engine is receiving gas, but it still doesn't start. :( We're thinking it could be something with the ignition module but supposedly there's no way to test it out of the car and I'd rather not pay to have it towed again since I've spent upwards of $500 in the last few weeks already. Any suggestions?

Sounds the EGR valve and EVP sen is bad even if you tested it. The EGR valve cntrols idle and if carbon up will make the car stall or idle high and low (rpms going up and down) This was common on all cars during that time. I would say replace the EGR valve and senosr. This should take care of the problem. One more thing have the fuel pressure check on the car.

SOURCE: 2000 chevy venture doesnt start
Not the IAC, or MAF, or 02
Does the Van Crank over?
Have you checked the IGN Relays? 1,2,and 3?
How did the Battery test out?
Anything below 11.9v battery is dead.
So I suggest that you do not throw any more parts and check the battery again.
