if there is no heat coming from the vents i would bleed the coolant system for air, usually trapped air in the system will cause this lack of heat.
SOURCE: Key is stuck in ignition of 1997 saturn sl1
I saw a similar post with similar problem with another Saturn. The dealer told him it was a bad battery. My guess here is it is a bad Ignition. However, just to appease the dealer side, disconnect the negative cable from the battery and connect the jumper cable to the negative cable and positive cable. If it was the battery causing the problem the key should come right out. My guess is you need to replace the ignition as one or more of the tumblers is not releasing as it should.

One or more of:
1. Your coolant is low
2. Your thermostat doesn't close and needs to be replaced
3. The valve from the cooling system to the heater core is stuck
4. Your heater core is clogged

The car runs fine in the a.m. a thirty six mile commute to work. In the p.m. after the ac has been running for the same commute if i turn off the ac and the car sits and idles the temp gauge starts to rise and overheat.
