The fuel filter is inside the tank in a canister that holds the fuel pump. Contrary to popular belief the 2003 Kia Sorento has a fuel filter that you can get at your dealership. (I purchased one today at my dealer for appox $46 vs the $320 for the whole new pump). It was the only model year that had a replaceable filter.
To find the filter:
Open back passenger door and pull bottom of the seat forward. You will see a square metal plate that has a wiring harness attach. Use a Phillips screwdriver and remove the 4 screws. Unhook the gas lines, and 3 electrical plugins. Unscrew the 4 bolts holding the pump canister and slowly remove the canister from the tank pulling up. Inside this canister us the pump and the filter etc.
You will need to get a diagram from there to remove and replace unless mechanically inclined, although it is fairly simple to do.

Your problem is the TPS sensor, check with your dealer, the replacement is very cheap.
