SOURCE: my tail lights and interior illumination on dash

Is it one or all of them? If it is just a few, it could be that the bulbs themselves have reached their limit. I have had to replace two of mine recently. Bulbs burn out, and when these do, it's not an easy task on some of them.

The one's directly in front of the driver, under the large, clear screen which holds all of the dials and such; you can reach from the back, but you have to have skinny and very flexible arms, hands & fingers. There is a little bulb holder that twists in with a half-twist. Really dumb design, if you ask me, but it is what it is.

I tried local parts stores for a cheap replacement, but in the end the only place I could get the right ones were from Toyota and they are (surprise) way more expensive than they should be.

The ones located behind the heating controls are a bit easier, you have to remove the panel itself and install the bulbs from the back. Careful with the trim panels through, very easy to break them and they are hundreds of dollars to get replacements!

SOURCE: 1989 toyota cressida location of all fuses

Hi, I have circled the fuse in question. If the fuse is burned, the problem may be due to an improperly wired aftermarket stereo. If you have an aftermarket stereo and this fuse keeps burning, please get back to me.

If the brake lights and turn signal lights work, then there may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse box.

Interior light won't come on when I open the front doors

If you have tried to adjust your interior lights with your dash light adjuster, and it didn't work, I would say you either have a bulb out, or a blown fuse. Hope it's something simple for you. GOOD LUCK

Dash and interior lights do not work

Dash lights are on the same fuse as the tail lights. Dash lights not working is an indication that the tail lights are not working. The first thing to check is that the tail light fuse is not blown. Most of the time replacing the tail light fuse will restore both the tail lights and the dash/interior lights. If this is not the case you may have to trace the wires and look for a broken or unplugged wire in the harness.

My 2000 corvette won't crank up---no lights will come on-----nothing works in dash, not even the radio

I would take the battery cables loose and actually verify battery is not leaking. If "security" is causing no start then you can tell by watching the security lamp on dash. It should be on solid when key is turned to run if it is part of your concern. also sounds like you could have a body control module problem it controls the interior lamps which may explain clicking you heard and also controls the security.

Dash lights won't come on

Turn the headloights on and see if the tail lights work, if not check the fuse inside at the left lower dash under the cover, check the fuse marked "tail", the tail lights are working then the problem may be the rheostat switch, make sure it's turned to the brightest setting, if the dash lites still don't work let me know.

Tail gate will not open when you press key or when you push interior button for tail gate to open. It just clicks but doesn't open. 2004 Pacifica

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

If it clicks then she's still ok. The lock may have been stuck that's why it won't open. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you spray WD40 on the mechanism. This will loosen the lock and will resolve the problem.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
