My glove box started beeping as I turned on my lights, I heard a series of five beeps, repeating five times. This has repeated 6 separate times now. My car is bone stock with the exception of the radio, this problem has occured with the radio off.
The air bags were removed before I bought the car, it was involved in a rear-end collision, and the former owner did not replace the bags. I have owned this car for close to two years, and this problem just started yesterday. The air bags were removed before I bought the car, it was involved in a rear-end collision, and the former owner did not replace the bags. I have recently started to get a series of seventeen (17) continuous beeps from the Dashboard area. Not really sure what this is. It has been a while since the car was serviced (possibly a year, but driven only about 8000 Kms since then), so not sure if it is related to that. Currently, the car has driven 46000 Kms.I have recently started to get a series of seventeen (17) continuous beeps from the Dashboard area. Not really sure what this is. If you are hearing a series of 5 beeps, 5 beeps and then a pause and it repeats, the airbag light is burnt out, and there is an error that the LFC ( light Flash Code ) needs to report.
Pull the cluster, and replace the airbag light, and then pay attention to the LFC that will be given ( example, 1 flash short pause, 8 flashes, slightly longer pause, then repeat the 1-8 pattern again, jsut as an example ).
The airbag malfunction indicator light on the instrument cluster might be the culprit. Turn on the ignition key check whether the airbag light if present. The airbag light shld be on for about 6 sec then turns off if there are no faults found. If the bulb is busted the beeping sound will warn the driver for five consecutive beeps. wear your seatbelts also.
this could be a couple of minor things which we can check first, open and close each door to see if they all operate the courtesy lights, open the trunk and push the trunl light button to ensure it is switching off. there may also be a button under the hood. lastly check the glove box button is turning off the glove/jockeybox light when it is closed. if any of these fail, that is the button that needs to be removed and inspected. Good luck
Check the Air Bag Indicator Light. When you turn the car on it should stay on for 6 seconds and then turn itself off. If a fault is detected in the system operation check, the indicator light will either fail to light, stay on continuously or flash. The flashing may not start until up to 30 seconds after the initial systems check.
If there is a fault in the system AND the air bag indicator light fails to light then an audible tone will alert you- it will be a set of 5 chimes (bells/beeps) five times in a row.
Have the Air Bag serviced and the indicator light bulb changed. Since the dash will be off in order to change the bulb, I would have all of the other dash lights changed at the same time. If one goes out, others will surely follow.
