After disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting there is a constant clicking and the brake light is flashing

The check engine light was on. I found the oil was level was very low. After restoring the oil to the proper level the check engine light was still on. I disconnected the negative cable to the battery figuring this might reset the computer. After reconnecting the cable the check engine light is still and now I have a constant clicking sound and a flahing red bulb in the brake area. Almost light hazzard lights but the hazzard lights are off

Try disconnecting the battery and ensure it is fully charged, recharge if necessary. Leave it disconnected overnight if possible.

Unlock and open the car, fit the ignition key and switch on and then reconnect the battery (leaving the door open).

This has worked for me. I hope it works for you.

SOURCE: Check engine light came on

I did end up taking my car to the dealership where I bought it. They were great! He knew immediately what the problem was. Of course, they still did a thorough check too.
Anyway, it turned out that the plug to the electronic system had been knocked loose. This caused the check engine light to come on & the cruise control to not work (you were right, if the check engine light is on, cruise doesn't work). As for the door, that was simply the switch plate needing to be adjusted.

SOURCE: 2003 Subaru Outback check engine light stays on

I have the Subaru Outback 2003, with the same problem, I have traced it down to the mass air flow sensor, I have cleaned the MAS butterfly from the air cleaner side with MAS cleaner, and use injector cleaner once a month, I still get the light every couple of months but not as often. It was worse when it was wet out. good luck

SOURCE: Subaru forester check engine light came on. Found

no not nornal, you need to get it plugged in to a diagnostic computer to see which sensor set it off it means you have something that needs to be looked at,low oil could be a coincidence

Kill switch on 1998 plymouth grand voyager

Just because the lights go on does not always mean that the battery has enough power to engage the starter. The clicking noise could be the voltage regulator clicking. And since you disconnected the battery maybe there is not a great connection at the terminals. Were the terminals cleaned before the battery was reconnected?
Curious ... what was the cause of the check engine light going on?

Battery and brake light constantly comes on

Battery light comes ON,this is indication of battery not getting charged by the alternator in the car.So the battery is loosing its charge/voltage.Other possibility of battery light coming on is battery is getting weak and it needs to be replaced. In some cases, just removing and cleaning the battery terminals and then reconnecting the battery terminals again.solves the problem. But also check the battery voltage by voltmeter.A fully charge proper battery will give 12 volts. If there is then get the battery terminals cleaned and reconnect and check.-------------- Now another problem, the brake light comes on when, the brake fluid is near to end or there is any problem with brake system, that is if brake pads are getting worn out or brake caliper is getting loose,In this case first check the brake fluid,if that is fine then check the brake pads and caliper. If that is also checked fine, then only in that case.Check the brake light switch. The switch is located where the brake lever is.Remove that brake switch, clean its wiring and recheck. It should help.-------------- Thanks.Helpmech.

you could push it in the river. if the abs is one of the lites on, you may have to scan it to retrieve the code for the problem. it could be the abs module, a speed sensor, or a couple of other cheap and easy little items. get it scanned first to narrow down the problem
