Fuel filter need 2 know where the fuel filter is located & how 2 change it

It doesn't have a fuel filter as a replaceable item.

on a modern fuel injected car a tune up is pretty simple and i would consider a COMPLETE tune up as follows. 1: change the spark plugs and wires (make sure to properly gap the spark plugs and use some antisieze on the threads)
2: change the fuel filter
3; change the oil and filter
4: change the transmission filter and fluid
5; flush and re fill the cooling system with fresh antifreeze properly mixed with water
6: inflate the tires to the proper pressure listed on the tire decal located in the drivers door jamb area.
7: change the serpentine belt if it shows signs of cracking.
these steps should provide you with 3 things..1 a dependable, fuel efficient car 2: peace of mind knowing things are good under the hood and 3: many miles of driving.

once again, you need to help out with stuff like year/make/model

Fuel filters can usually be found on the drivers side under carriage about middle of the vehicle. There should be a canister type filter with 2 metal lines connected to it. One on both sides of the canister. you will need to disconnect both lines and the bracket that holds the filter in place and install the new filter. I do suggest that you remove the fuel cap to try and relieve some of the fuel pressure built up in the lines before disconnecting the filter so you won't be sprayed too much with fuel. Your fuel filter is located under the vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame in the fuel line. Make sure you release the pressure on the fuel system before changing the filter. Let me know if you have any further questions and thanks for using FixYa!

HI. this seems to be a faulty(clogged) filter but, i would also change the fuel pump as well. this is good preventive maintenance. the fuel filter can be changed in the parking lot. it is located near the fuel tank and, it is along the outer frame work, inline with the fuel lines.

You will need to separate the fuel lines on each end of the filter to release it. there will be clips on the ends of the filter that hold the fuel lines. be careful not to break these clips. it is very hard to release the fuel lines of the filter when these clips are broken.

To clarify the location of the filter, it is located Under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame rail in fuel line

Unfortunatly most dakotas have an inline fuel filter, its located in the gas tank because there not supposed to need regular maintenance or changing. Basically you have to drop your gas tank to get the fuel filter out.
