When its cold weather car won't start after driving sometimes
Google Saturn Ignition Lock and you'll see that this is a major problem with these cars. I bought a 2003 Ion in May 2008 and have had it in the shop 3 times for starting problems. I just had the entire ignition lock system replaced last month and so far it's been okay. Saturn will acknowledge that this is a problem, but there is no recall or true fix for it.

Hi, I also have a 2004 Saturn ION that doesn't seem to want to start in the cold weather. I've had it towed numerous times and to the same mechanic that I trust. He's never sold me anything that I didn't need. and he doesn't seem to know what the problem is. But by searching the internet it seems that I've found the problem but saturn doesn't want to step up to the plate and correct the problem. I called them today after reading all of these posts and was told by (Becky 1-866-790-5600 ext. 31636) that no one has complained about this problem before. A friend of mine gave me a Bulletin that Saturn issued to it's Dealers about this problem. The Bulletin # is 04-08-45-005D. It's titled No Crank / No Start DTC, Dated March 15, 2006 and it covers Models: 2003-2006 Saturn ION's. So if this problem is happening to you please call Becky at the above number and let her know that you're having the same problem and maybe, just maybe we can all get our cars fixed! My car only has 22,000 miles on it and I mostly use it for back and forth to work every day. I had to take my Moms 1988 Buick to work yesterday, which started up no problem in the cold. Don't forget to call Becky!
