My 2004 kia amanti it's turning then dies almost immediately prior to this it came on then was blowing thick white smoke out the exhaust

smoke out exh is normal if super cold out side is it. (steam)
when engine is fully warm this steam goes away
but if not and smells sweet this steam that is cracked head or warped head.
if IMMO lamp is not happy ,the immo kills spark and fuel.

did you used only water for coolant in engine/rad?
that error cracks blocks and heads
starter cranks Fast( turns)
engine starts, smokes and stall.
when an engine burns fuel it makes steam and most times can not be seen on hot day but will on any cold day,yes
learn to watch your neighbors cars push out steam then later it stops hot engine. if smoke is smoke it smells like burning oil and is because it is oil burning, and is other problems ,

when it wants to DIE, use fast right foot to stop the stall
can you?
make sure dead cold engine,
rad cap off , is full of AF 50% ,i test mine every early fall for 50%
or risk great engine damage. (a tool I have tests that cheap)

2009 Kiak 2700 diesel. White smoke. Had injectors reconditioned. Why is it still smoking?

White smoke is more likely coolant. So a head gasket leak or cracked head or cylinder sleeve.

Check coolant level ievel s not dropping.

My nissan 2013 maxima 2.5ltr V6 117k ks is using oil and blowing plumes of white smoke on start up, any ideas on this problem.

Blown head gasket. The white smoke isn't smoke, it is water/steam. Do a compression test/check on all cylinders to find where the gasket is blown.

Shutting off and on blowing white smoke when shutting off

White smoke in exhaust is a sign of water getting into engine combustion process - does not burn and comes out as steam. Accounts for engine shut downs and steam in output.

There could be a crack in engine block or broken head gasket.

White smoke delica

The thick white smoke is either burnt oil or steam you can easily identify the smell of burnt oil not really sure why you thought it would be a good idea to put a 2 stroke mixed fuel in but more than likely that alone fouled your spark plugs. But if the problem preceded the fuel blunder then your either have a bad intake/head gasket, leaking valve seats, or bad main engine seal. Replace the spark plugs and check cylinder compression. Change your engine oil and check to see if it contains water/coolant also watch for coolant or oil consumption

Its blowing white smoke from exhaust

Sounds like you blew a headgasket. When this happens water can mix with oil and it makes the oil look white and foamy when you look into the oil fill cap. Another version is oil mixes into the water and gets into your radiator, this makes the same thick white mess and both versions would have to be thoroughly flushed depending on which got into the other. You could of also just blew the gasket between a water or oil jacket and a piston cylinder. This will cause the fluids to pump into your cylinder, heated and then be forced out the exhaust pipe. If water is mixed with this it will billow out white smoke(steam) in huge amounts. I would check your water levels and oil levels very quickly to make sure it does not empty those systems out and burn your motor up.
The last item is the worst outcome. If a crack somehow was created in the engine block or the head of the motor, the same thing could happen as it exited out the exhaust pipe. Though this is the worst case of really thick white smoke out exhaust.
Resolve: time for a mechanic to diagnose this one before it stops running completely.

I have a jaguar x-type 2.0d. Sometimes when revving the engine hard, black smoke is blowing out the exhaust quite thickly. I think it might be the turbo. Can anybody shed any light on this for me?

Black smoke is usually carbon, blue oil, and white is steam. I would guess your car has a bad O2 sensor and has been running rich for quite a while.
