My visor broke also, but I REFUSED to pay the $120+ Kia wants to replace them with no guarantee to not have future problems. I took the advise of jacobib berto (the first reply), but went to Lowe's and bought a pack of circular magnets for $2.70. I then superglued 1 magnet to the "mirror flap" on the visor and then another to the side of the light on the roof (make sure you have opposite polarity prior to gluing). This may cause the "mirror flap" on the visor to open when attempting to pull the visor down so I used 2 strong rubber bands on the visor to keep the visor closed when pulled down the visor. Putting the magnets to the side of the mirror flap and the light still allows functionality of the mirror. I thought this was an okay sacrifice when considering the $100+ savings.

Some people try velcro strips, but they wear out and don't stick very well to the fabric. I suggest making a small cut in the fabric of the visor, slipping a few strong magnets (like the link below) in, then doing the same on the overlying headliner. Did the trick nicely for mine!

SOURCE: 2007 Optima sun visor is loose.

My 2007 Optima Driver's Side visor also had the same problem. I removed it with the screws under the plate at the base of the visor. Upon further inspection, the plastic inside the "hinge" had shattered inside the plastic sleeve. I am currently attempting some at-home super-glue-and-epoxy repair. If this works, I've saved myself a couple hundred bucks in repairs.

SOURCE: sun visors flop down and obsruct the view on my 2007 kia optima

Both of my visors broke -- first the one right after purchasing (had dealership repair) then the other (still under warantee, so dealership repaired). The lady said the 2007 Optimas had a "bad batch" of visors and many needed to be replaced. Fine. Now the driver's side broke again. It just needs to be replaced. I love the Kia, hate the visors. Not a bad payoff for the reasonable price. So far, the only thing that has broken.

SOURCE: Sun visor on 2006 Kia

My daughter had the same problem with her visor. I put velcro on the visor to try to keep it up out of the way but after a while the velcro came lose and the visor came down again. I called KIA and talked with a technician. I was told that in order to fix the visor I would have to remove the cloth so I should be able to sew. Not a viable solution. We ended up taking her car in and had a new visor put on. It was covered under warranty. Had problems with headlights going out. Bought the replacement bulbs from NAPA. They only lasted a few months. Started purchasing the bulbs from the dealer and have not had to replace them for over a year. Have to pay a little more but it is worth not having to hassle with their replacement.

SOURCE: My Kia 2007 sun visor is broken?

I've had to have this fixed twice by Kia. It's under warranty, so it's a free, fast fix. They do need to redesign this!!

SOURCE: how do I remove the

Look at the plastic plate that the visor arm comes out of. There are screws underneath the plate. You need to adjust these screws, and that should take care of the problem.

Replacing sun visor

Have KIA issue a safety recall because both 2007 and my 2006.5 are plagued with sun visor failures. It is dangerous and needs fixed. The customer should not have to shell our $100. a pop to fix a KIA problem. Both sides have failed in a stuck position just before and just after warrenty expired.

I have a 2006 Kia Optima and my drivers side visor is constantly falling down and hitting me in the forehead.. it is really unsafe and annoying.. what should I do!??

There is really no fix for this. You would need to replace the visor. You could try tightening the screws but likely wore out on the inside of the visor. Try searching in a salvage yard they should have something for you. Thanks

Sun visor won't go back into place

if its flopping around or feels loose you can try tightening the "hinge" that connects it to the roof and tightening the screws on the visor itself. That might align it enough to fit again properly.
