Hesitation, stalling like out of gas

94 wrangler, runs great a low speed (below 40) normal driving....but as soon as I get on the gas it hesitates and the engine shuts down like the key was turned off til I back off the accelerater. High speed simply stepping on accelerater causes the same reaction. push the clutch in rev the engine it will start to rev then shuts down like above
I have checked the fuel pump with a meter, it checks out strong, return fuel line works fine, changed fuel filter along frame checked fuel lines all good fuel tank is poly type so no rust good gas (just cleaned tank) have run fuel injector cleaners numerous times, changed spark plugs rotor cap distributer cap checked plug wires WHATS LEFT? anybody got a suggestion???????

4.0 4x4. at freeway speeds, allrunning fine. then engines shudders and rpms go up. just goes away after awhile. replaced all plugs wires cap distributor coil fuel filter. at low speeds, it will cause engine to die but the injectors continue to fire off as if its running. it will start again after 15 - 20 minutes.

Clogged Catalytic Converter. What happens is as you push down harder on the accelerator you force more gas into the system causing a slightly richer mixture and more exhaust flow is neccessary. The easiest way to look for a clogged cat is when it's dark out take it for a ride causing it perform it's problem look under the vehicle if the cat is literally glowing red hot you either have a clogged cat or an extremely rich fuel mixture.

Sluggish when pressing gas pedal

My guess is a compression problem - which could be caused by something simple and cheap to fix or as serious as a new head gasket.

If the oxygen sensors have not been recently replaced, a new one should be installed. Also, perform a fuel pump pressure test. Clean fuel injection system including throttle bore, idle speed control motor and passages. If the problem still exists, scan the computer for trouble codes.
also check if Mass Air Flow Senor is operating below were it should. This condition gives you low power, replace to recheck system.

1999 buick lasabre hesitation while driving.

there are really only 2 things that cause this problem most of the time i have seen it, 1st a defective Mass Airflow Sensor, the second is low fuel pressure from a failing pump or obstructed fuel filter do u have a check/service engine soon light on at any time? have u had the system tested for trouble code's? Go to any Kragen or Autozone and ask for a OBD 2 trouble code test, it is free, record any code's that show and post them back here on this same thread.
