The crankcase builds pressure then blows the dipstick out, then oil is blown all over the driver side of the engine. Using a quart of oil in 15 miles. When the dipstick is nice and tight the pressure seems to go through the rings and the engine smokes terribly. Have already replaced the pcv valve, no change...
If your blowing smoke out the pipe then the oil rings are bad , thus the pressure from explosion in the cylinder is going into the crankcase, which would mean the pressure rings are going bad also.
so you have loss of power also?
you should get it repaired soon or you could blow a gasket also and then it could crack the head or block
hope this info is worth a fixya , and if you need more assistance then just ask me and I'll help
You definatley have a crack in cylinder head or block,,may be a head gasket too,,,you need to take it a part to see the problem,,no easy fix..not what ya want to here sorry..

Thanks everyone...We figured it out later that one of the rings on #4 cylinder broke and that was the problem. Very confusing for someone who hasn't lost an engine in over 30 years.
