What engines fit 1990 trooper

USA car yes/no??
2002 Isuzu trooper.
2wd or 4wd?
check engine lamp on means scan the OBD2 scan port
and it tells you of VSS sensors are bad, some car have 2.
fuses farst
scan it next./
C10 and C15 fuse must not be blown out. dash box.
marked as Meter and Audio, ignore names, 10 and 15 fuses both good.
electronic, speedo it is. and same for VSS
vss for 2wd not same as 4wd,
2wd is on rear of transmission , manual stick or autmatic
4wd is on rear of transfer case.
not telling your drivetrain makes for long answers

VSS is the speed of the far rear , prop drive shaft.
it converts, RPM of said shaft to MPH, (speed) and then sends said speed directly to Speed and to the PCM and TCM if there is a TCM

should be no problem
bell housings are made to fit the engine not the transmission as the transmission is used across a range of manufacturers so if the bell housing is of an engine that is the same as yours then it should fit your transmission

id' say its made by a top transmission maker in japan.
and fully spec'd out by Isuzu.
why do you ask?

• does it fit other cars?, why not ask a transmission exhange shop or rebuilder. that. they can answer, that.

most transmissions of this type use a standard box but with OEM
tail shaft houses, designed by Isuzu to fit transfer case .

for a diesel I have no idea, google exchanges for that.
google tranny rebuild kits.
or google swaps. for same.

i do manuals. and best is to find a donor car.
then pull the tranny and have 2 tranny
then get the kit and make one good transmission.

gear box to rear engine bolt pattern in the bell housing unless you change engine and transmission as a unit. Diff ratios will be different between a petrol and diesel vehicles so you will have a road speed difference.. Check for radiator differences as to capacity/hose locations and check to see if the fan to radiator distance will allow the fit.. Check for engine mounting point differences.

quick test , replace a piece of the fuel line with a clear plastic one, chaeck for air bubbles especially with less than half tank

Jack car up, remove drain plug and drain fluid, once it has stopped dripping, remove all the bolts around tranny pan, lower tranny pan, remove the bolt or 2 bolts that hold in the filter. Replace with new filter and new tranny pan gasket and reinstall the bolts.
Then add new fluid, with foot on the brake and vehicle running, shift to each gear for 5 seconds, repeat three times and this will bleed any air out of the system and you will be good to go.

Well, could be many things, but first and easiest, check the dist. cap and rotor, and all the plug connections. Any moisture will freeze and short out the ignition system. Also change the fuel filter. If you get the slightest moisture in the fuel it will lock up the filter when the water freezes. Could be a relay, probably "engine relay" that sticks when it gets too cold.

yes it will fit but get a new clutch

Follow the top radiator hose, to the housing on the engine. That's the thermostat, it is actually 2 housing bolted together. remove the 2 bolts, and pull up on the housing. Flip it over and check the gasket. If it's bad, it will leak coolant all over the injectors.
