My 2000 cadillac escalade accelerated and the brakes were not working

As i pushed the gas pedal while stopped from a red light, it picked up speed and i noticed it and i started braking and the brakes were not working. i started pumping the brakes and when it slowly started to lower the speed i put the emergency brake then i put it in park then i had to turn off the car cause it was still accelerated. i don't know what the problem is?

That is not an emergency brake, it is for parking only. Get this checked outby a brake shop or general repair shop ASAP, DO NOT DRIVE IT!

SOURCE: 2003 Cadillac CTS - the car won't shift from park

sounds like you have a bad brkae light switch, which is located on the brake pedal assembly. a bad switch will not let you shift out of park and you will not have any brake lights as the car does not recognize that the pedal is being pushed and brakes engaged. easy to replace switch if you are handy, if not this is a inexpensive repair at any mechanic. hope this was helpful is so please rate 4 thumbs.

SOURCE: rear right turn signal and brake light will not function

More than likely, the problem is in the turn signal modual. The turn signal/cruise control/wiper/bright switch is all contained in the module in the steering column. Mine did similiar stuff a year ago.

Why do i have to push the stabilizer track button for my 02 escalade can accelerate?

Could be a Wheel speed/ABS sensor that is causing the lack of power until you turn it off. Basically the computer is being tricked into thinking that it needs to apply the brakes.

the switch is located at the base of the brake pedal near the fire wall.if you look under the dash and watch the pedal as you move it you will see the switch that it pushes against to put the brake lights on.check for broken wires at the switch, then check for power on one wire it should have power all the time and the other wire should only have power when the brake pedal is pushed.this is a 2 wire switch, note there may be a second switch in this spot that controls cruise control.

How do i reset oil change light on 2010 escalade

with the key to the "on" position (when all of your instrument panel lights come on) but do not start it. Push the gas pedal to the floor 3 times. On the third time hold the gas pedal down until your indicator light says "Oil life reset". Then turn the key the rest of the way to start the car and then it is complete. Don't forget to rate me!!!

There is a growling noise in the front end in front of the driver only occurs when pushing on gas petal

Sounds like a possible motor mount loose or broken, but hard to say.
Quick test:
Open hood, put car in drive, hold foot tight on brake pedal don't let off the brakes, accelerate slightly, if the mount is broken engine should lift up on the right side looking out the drivers side windshield, and show signs of the fan blades hitting the black plastic fan shroud in front of the radiator.
A car lift is the easiest and safest way to gain access for replacement of a broken engine mount.

While stopped car rpm will rise sudden acceleration

I would check your idle, and to be sure not to press the acceleration pedal when you're stopped. You could try putting it in neutral while your stopped to try and help the acceleration go down. Hope this helps!?

That may very well be correct.Asking for acceleration needs a strong spark and these parts will provide that.
All that for $242 installed? Great deal.
