I need to remove the dash board so I can fix the hazzard control knob (it is hanging out) The heat will not come out of defrost or the heat on the floor. The control knob for heat, defrost, etc. does not work. There is shorts in the dash lights.
Pick up a Haynes manual. It has helped me a lot! It will give you advice and help walk you through things like removing your dashboard. Mine has helped me SO much! Worth the money to have. I keep mine IN my car. You can also view the manual online through libraries sometimes if you have a library card.

You could have faulty altenator or short causing the battery to drain. The engine light usually comes on when anything electrical or sensor wise is faulty. Brake light will come on if, low brake fluid, e-brake handle is up.
