The car alarm on my 2000 BMW 528i station wagon keeps going off for no reason. At work, at the mall, anywhere and everywhere. The lights start flashing and the horn starts honking. It's driving everyone nuts. I park my car at a warehouse, then I leave to run my sales route, then the alarm goes off. The warehouse workers are getting tired of it and have now named the car Christine. Help!! How do I fix this?

use the key and unlock the trunk...if that doesnt work do the passenger door...that should reset the alarm...

the jetta has a faulty alarm system from the factory i have been working on one in my shop. the alarm moddule is inside the dash behind the light switch and has a 10 pin connector and a 6 pin connector. this can be bypassed if you disconnect both connectors and jump the two large wire on the 6 pin connectors, these wires operate your starter. the car will start and run but your alarm will no longer be active. the door locks and everthing else will still work. the only issue i am having is the factory radio isn't working because it is controlled by the alarm. but worse case scenario i can use an aftermarket radio if need be.

sounds like you have a short in the horn wiring or a bad ground wire these grounds are mostly located under the engine compartment near the back wall whitch is called the fire wall or beside the fenders

I had this same problem just today.Hhowever, I had the remote in my hand and it would not stop the honking!. Since I could get into the car, I released the hood, opened the master fuse box on the left side, and pulled the fuse labeled "Horn Relay".(On the upper left, there are three large, black, square fuses, it is the third and is labeled in the lid). I waited ten seconds and put the fuse back in, no more alarm, no more infernal honking.

You should be able to unplug the control unit under the drivers seat to disable the alarm.
