Power windows/Dome light dont work

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus. A few weeks ago a bird hit and tore off my side passenger mirror and we had to cut the wires from it to completely remove the mirror. Since doing so the power windows and dome lights do not work and I also think it has stopped the rear defrost from turning on. Haven't had a chance to get a new mirror yet but do you think it is just a blown fuse that is stopping the windows from going down? Couldn't see a fuse list in the panel either. Any help is appreciated!

The blue and black wire running where you cut is the power windows cord which was probably cut in the process.

SOURCE: dome lights won't work or power mirrors

Ford's are notorious for electrical 'ghosts'.
If the fuses are all fine.. and the motors for the windows and the light bulb for the dome light are good... probably not much that can be done unless you want to give it to the dealer for diagnosis and repair, but they'll probably tell you they can't find the problem.

SOURCE: Three problems: 1)All 4 power

Hi, it sounds like you have a bad door switch. First close all doors and try having someone push in on each door while you watch the ajar light. If the light goes out while pushing in on a door, the latch on that door should be adjusted to hold the door in tighter.
If none of the doors will extinguish the light when pushed in, you will have to troubleshoot the individual switches. The switch turns on the indicator and dome light by connecting the attached wires. To test the switch, remove the connector. With all other doors closed, see if pulling the connector off will extinguish the light. Try this for each door switch until you find one that will put the light out. Replace or repair that switch. Note, the switches are inside the doors next to the latches. You need to remove each door panel or at least remove it far enough to reach inside and pull the connector off the switch. Be careful not to confuse the switch with the power lock solenoid (if you have power locks).
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Usually in wet conditions my passenger rear floorboard has up to 1 " of standing water. cannot locate where its getting in. also noticed wet floor front and rear when we hadnt har rain in a week orr two....

It sounds like the door seal or window. To be sure, if u want to, get in the car, close the doors & windows & have someone spray the car w a hose. Good luck. Check all the seals first.

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited edition and the drivers door control panel doesnt work at all(power windows, locks, mirrors) The controls on the other doors for the windows dont work either but...

I had same problem it is a ground wire broken in the harness rubber boot between dthe driver door. Peel back the rubber that protects wires and you will find broken ground wire(black) add a piece of wire solder and wrap with electrical tape put rubber boot back into door everything should work.

1999 Ford F150 passenger side window regulator

Whn the window does not work try this, Turn on you dome light. Press and hold the window button. Does the dome light dim? If it does it is likely a physical resistance in the window track. If it doesnt then there is a break in the window circuit. Have you tested the switch. The switch could cause an intermitten concern. The wiring of a 1999 f150 the passenger side switch could cause a concern even using the drivers switch. Check both switches using the dome light trick. If you have a test light place the clamp on a ground and the tip to the TN/LB wire and the WH/YE on the driver side switch operating it in boh up and down positions. Each wire should go power in one postion but not the other. The passenger side wire colors are YE/RD and RD/YE. Good luck
