I have a issue with my 1998 blazer 4x4 4.3L auto. all at once the battery light and low fuel gauge came on. NO there is fuel in it. Also the shift indicator doesnt light up and the over head info thing doesnt either. also gas and temp gauge is no longer reading stats. No check engine light. does any one know what this is? thinking maybe PCM any ideas? thanks for your help
No , it's not the PCM . Battery light on means a problem with the charging system (alternator) And maybe the insturment cluster . Before you start replacing parts the vehicle doesn't need ,take it to a qualified repair shop .cost less in the long run .

Jess, Make sure you don't have the ground and sender level circuits crossed at the gauge. If the needle is pegs to full it indicates an open circuit, if the needle pegs to empty it is indicating a short to ground.

I changed the fuel pump on my 1997 chevy pu. The fuel gauge reads full all of the time. It only has 1/4 of a tank.

This is a common problem with Malibu's. It is due to cheap metal in the fuel gage that corrodes. Chevrolet knows about this but they refuse to issue a fix. The check engine light staying on and the faulty fuel gage are related. This is a defect and they need to recall this part! Raise hell with the dealership!
