It sounds more like a klunking noise that appears comeing from underneath front end of car and the vehicle has 39,000 miles what do you think?
I have an Infiniti G20 and when I turn left in an intersection, 1/4 of the way, I get a klunking sound on the drivers side front around the wheel. What are my possibilities of repair? and secondly, does the rpm odometer have any significance as it is not working 90% of the time.
They have had problems with the intermediate steering shafts and the engine cradles on these cars. try this website: http://impalahq.naioa.com/ look under news and tsbs
Try this link. Sounds like the same problem I had and was fixed under warranty.

Sounds like ball joint or steering linkage problem..ever have accident or slam curb hard ?...does she steer true or is it loose?...if all else seems to feel ok and you dont feel the clunk and have your steering actually move when it clunks.... your axle (cv joint) is failing
