While driving at night with my headlights on my drivers side brake light is constantly on. I looked under the rear-end and saw that the previous owner made a mess of all the wires that connect to my drivers side tail light assembly. where can I find a detailed wiring diagram for the rear lights?
Auto parts stores have manuals made explicitly for your make and model. It will have the diagram with the color code for all the wires you need.

There could be a fusible link under the hood off the starter relay that is burnt out.

I think I have found the problem. When I wiggle the ignition switch the turn signals and radio go on and off so I feel the issue is in the ignition switch. From what I understand the actual electronics for the switch are at the base of the sterring column behind the lower dash panel and is connected by a rod that may need adjusting.

the problem is not the bulb it is the connectors the bulb is connected to...rebend them so they touch....its happening on all the 2000 jeeps...email me for any more [email protected]

who told you to check all grounds (that means both ends of the cable.) I use additional grounding on all my cars...Run a 10 gauge multi strand wire from the battery to the fender, around to the firewall. Branch there and run through firewall to the dash frame support under the lower lip of the dashboard. The other branch continues to l/f fender, attaching to a point where computer ground wires are, then terminating at the cross-bar that runs above the radiator. To make connections to body, I remove insulation but do not cut wire, just loop it around a bolt & re- tighten, then a squirt of undercoating on each. I normally also add an additional ground to one of the starter bolts. I also remove the original block ground wire and replace it with something along the lines of 00 welding cable.(I have a bunch of it from back when I needed it for re-locating race car batteries to the trunk.)

big problem with jeeps 98 and up should be a safety recall but is not; you need to replace the drivers side tail light assembly with a new one, from jeep or auto parts store if available. used auto parts recycler may have one but your taking a chance, used should be 40 to50
