My Saturn 1997 SL1 doen't like to start

My car is Saturn 1997 SL1 single overhead cam shaft. The battery is new, the starter is new, new ignition cables, new spark plugs, new air filter, new fuel filter and the car is cranking, but doesn't like to start. Please advise.

Check to see if the fuel pressure bleeds off when key is turned off. 1997 saturns had a faulty pressure relief valve in the fuel sender causing hard to start problems.

2002 Saturn SL1, 72K miles. Hasn't been driven in

Single click? More battery is needed. Id change the battery, or slow charge it.
Might also be the security system shutting down the starter. Common on GM vehicles. Heres a link on that. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

How do i know if my saturn is an LS1 or an SL?

yes there is, be sure you order the correct one, dual overhead cam is usually a sl2 and a single overhead cam is a sl1.

1997 SL1 Saturn will not turn. lights air signals work. car will not start.starter was checked it was good, the battery was checked it was good as well.

Check the continuity of your power cables leading from the battery to the starter as well as the lines from the ignition switch. You could have a faulty connection or a bad switch.

I recommend buying a Haynes manual (about $20) from automotive store; you'll need it for this task

I just need to know what size engine comes in a saturn SL1, it's a 1997?

Unless it has been modified it is a 1.9L 4 cylinder, the same engine in all Saturns from 91-99. The only difference is whether or not it is a SOHC or DOHC, meaning single or double overhead cam. Double overhead cam has spark plug sockets in the center of the top of the head and is overall slightly larger than the SOHC engine which has spark plug sockets on the front of the engine. Usually there will be something on the rear bumper like DOHC as well. The engines are nearly identical in all other respects but the transmissions are not the same. If your car has 14 inch wheels most likely you have a SOHC while if your wheels are 15 inch you have a DOHC.

SL1 won't start, just single click, electronics work

Try charging the battery or jumping the car, your alternator could be shot and not charging the battery.

What would cause my1999 Saturn sl1 not to start after a new head gasket was put on? Ok so today we replaced the head gasket on my 1999 Saturn Sl1 single cam. We made sure the timing chain was put back on...

Check the cam/crank sensors. Also, if the car happens to have a distributor, make sure it is not 180 degrees off. If this does not help, then do a compression check. Remember, and engine only needs three things to run. Fuel, Spark, and Compression. (in order of course.) The firing order for your engine is 1,4,3,2.
