MAF (mass air flow )measure mass of air flowinf into the engine,This sensor output DC signal range is 0.5 vlt to 4 vlt ,its job is to vary fuel injector opening tome. As for the IAC it controls engine speed,by varying the amount that passes the throttle plate, this uses a duty cycle in order to acheieve the desired RPM, this is located on the throttle body.MAF (mass air flow )measure mass of air flowinf into the engine,This sensor output DC signal range is 0.5 vlt to 4 vlt ,its job is to vary fuel injector opening tome. Thermostat failure, random misfires detected, idle control errors. Severe vehicle overheat condition could set po300 and po506. Recommend replace tstat and seal , clear codes and recheck.
It's your idle air control system try taking the air intake off and spray throttle body cleaner in the throttle body while revving it up and look for air leaks in the system by spraying the cleaner around the connections while at idle
PO506 --- Idle Air Control System RPM lower then expected
Clean Throttle Plate
Check for any air/vacuum leaks --
Ducting from air filter to throttle, loose or a vacuum leak
Throttle Body Leaking
MAF Sensor
IAC Valve gasket
Egr Gasket
PCV Seal
Hopefully you have installed new spark plugs since 2005
Also replaced the front (2) O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles
Cleaned MAF Sensor once or twice a year
