2001 Dodge Caravan 3.3 V6. heater quit suddenly. Checked coolant, was down. Started van and it ran rough. Went around to check exhaust and heard a loud pop noise and van stopped. Smoke was coming out around coil pack? Van would not restart. Noticed upper coolant hose goes into block below the coil pack, any connection here? Thanks, Bryan.

First, keep in mind that as you begin to remove these doors you run the risk of causing serious scratches to the paint and glass, so put some masking tape and/or plastic sheeting around both sides of the door (rear quarter panel and rear glass, front door and front door glass)
I would get a Haynes repair guide since that's what I have to work from and it will tell you step by step with pictures, what to do. It's not hard, but you need to get all of the attach points unhooked to be successful. Suggest you have a helper working with you to keep the door steady.

hi the front ones are not bad but the back ones you will have to get from under the van.( do them one at a time)

Replace the bad radiator hose first. Second- get you special formulated anti-freeze dye from the auto store and pour it into the radiator. Third- make sure you got all the air pockets out of your system, cause the coolant system won't work with air pockets in it. Fourth- Check for leaks by looking for the colored dye. If it's not the radiator hose, then could possibly be a pin hole in your radiator. Would suggest replacing all the radiator hoses at the same time while you got the coolant system disconnected, cause you don't want to have to come back and replace another hose in a few months.
