Your problem sounds like an intermittent short in the power feed to the coil pack from the EEC module

What exactly did you do? did you replace the power feed from the eec and if you did, did you use the same gauge wire from the eec to the coil pack??

What causes the engine to miss fire on #2 cylinder?

If you shoot me your year I might have the info you need. And - depending on your year - the 94ish years had TWO coil packs for the 4 cylinder - 8 plug wires basically. When any of the leads of either of those coil packs goes out - youre going to experience a miss condition. If it's the v6 - you've got a cam sensor that can cause that type of action - and have you checked your throttle positioning sensor? If that goes out - the ecu will get mixed signals and can act like that as well. If you can tell me the year I'll see if I got the info you need. All the best.

Nissan Maxima 2002 miss on cylinder 4

A code P0304 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

Possible Solutions:

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

I have a 2003 Santa Fe with 3.5 6cyl engine that is ideling rought & lots of missing off a stop. had codes PO001,03,05. Had wires & plugs replaced 2 weeks ago & still running rough. Now...

Do you mean P0301, P0302, etc? Misfire codes? You have 6 plugs, 3 coil packs, and 3 wires. cyl 2,4,6 are the ones in front, with the coil packs. It's possible they're bad.

is the car missing when driving? 2000 and on has coil over plug's there are no wires. Is the check engine light on? if so go to an Auto Zone parts store or one that will scan the car computer for free and get the codes out to pin point the problem. Sounds like the cars miss firing. it could be more than one coil and or plug going bad. Did you replace any coil packs? Bad coil packs are 90% of all miss fires on todays cars and trucks.

My truck is missing on the forth and fifth

things that can cause it to miss.
fouled plug (checked)
bad wires(checked)
coil pack(checked)
ignition signal to coil pack( switch old coil pack to a working cylinder to make sure its good and you may find a possible short in the wiring to the coil pack) alternately check the voltage to the wires going to the coils make sure like colors have like voltages. im not too big into ford trucks but thats a good start for most vehicles
possibly injector stuck open and flooding cylinders
timing could be off

2002 Ford Tarus intermittant missing cyl #3 after tuneup

I would remove one plug at a time, plug it back in wire and lay on top of engine block. Have some one crank and look for spark. Do this for each plug. If 1 is missing. You have bad wire. If two sparks are missing, then you have bad coil pack, if 3 is missing, you have two bad packs or bad module, if all cylinders are missing, then module or cranks sensor is faulty. Dont forge to change those plug wires just as often as plugs. They may look good still, but they get weak

Ok odds are you just need a routine tune up. Plugs, fuel filter, air filter. Now this engine uses coil packs i think, so you wont have normal plug wires. The coil packs are individual and sit directly on the plugs. So it is possible you have a bad coil pack. These engines were known to have this problem in excess. So try the cheap fixes first. plugs, fuel filter...these two is the best two to try first.. The air filter wont cause a bad miss unless it is completely dobbed up. so just for your own good to change the air filter. Now if neither the plugs or fuel filter fixes this car try this. Each coil pack will have an individual plug on top of them. So listen closely to your engine. Unplug each coil pack one at a time, Now evry time you unhook a plug the engine should miss, so unplug one at a time, and if the engine does miss they are working properly. Now if you unhook one of these and there is no change in the idle of your engine, my friend you have found the problem. All you have to do if you find one that does not change the engine idle, you just go buy a coil pack and replace it. This should fix you right up
