SOURCE: 2004 GMC Envoy has trouble idling

Try the fuel filter. Sounds like the engine might be running rough due to weak fuel pressure. Its cheaper to replace, especially if it's still original from 04. Try running some injector cleaner through a couple of tanks of high octane gas.

SOURCE: Gmc Envoy 2004 Seat heaters

I have the same problem with my 2004 HD Sierra. I found that the "MBEC" 50 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box had blown. Replaced that and it works now. This has happened twice in 2 years.

SOURCE: replace thermostat on 2004 gmc envoy

The thermostat on this vehicle's (the Envoy & Trailblazer are essentially the same vehicle) In-line 6 cylinder engine is on the driver's side of the engine, below & behind the alternator. It is not found in the typical location (which may be for the 8 cylinder engine), in an answer above.

Most directions outline removal of the alternator to gain easy access to the hose clamps, bolts and housing of the thermostat. I have located a site that after free registration, has detailed instructions on how to do this job, and the link below that describes an easier method with photos. Check out:

Where is the heater control valve located on a 2004 Gmc Envoy XUV with a 4.2 liter 256 cubic inch engine

There isn't a heater control valve in the hoses, it controls the heat in the vehicle with a temp blend door which has an electric actuator.

Where, exactly, is the idle air control valve on a 2004 envoy located

It should be mounted on the side of the throttle body. But if it is bad you should also have a check engine light on and a stored trouble code for the valve.

Hello: Unfortunately both problems you have can only be corrected by parts replacement. You will have to replace the window switch and the heater/air conditioning (HVAC) control head. There was no GM repair even when repaired under warranty.

2004 Envoy xuv 6 cyl when I turn on the A/C the truck stalls but as long as I keep my foot on the gas it will continue to run

Is your "Service engine soon" light on?? If so, have your vehicle's computer scanned for error codes. If not, Clean or replace the IAC valve (idle air control valve). This unit controls airflow through the engine while the gas pedal isnt pressed or A/C is powered on.
