it is the heater blend door.....you can buy the piece off ebay for around 30.00 dollars the dealer can charge upwards of 800 dollars to fix because they take the steering column and dash apart...you can go through the glove box and cut a whole into ac system and access the blend door. old one slides out new one slides in this is farely easy and takes less than an hour
Your heater core is leaking. The heater core on your 2001 Jeep Cherokee is responsible for providing heat in the cab of your Jeep.
Overtime, he heater core can become
plugged with dust or corrosion and stop working causing it to leak. The heater core is linked with the antifreeze that runs in the radiator in turn draws heat from the engine and than uses that heat to warm up the car. Most heater cores are located under the dash on the passenger side. Here is a link for how locate and remove the heater core. http://www.ehow.com/how_5332477_remove-jeep-cherokee-heater-core.html
hi
contact your jeep dealer as there was a recall for the grand cherokee heated seat pads as some of them heated to much and set the seat on fire... they will replace them free off charge.

Hi I have same problem with my cherokee year 2000 not been able to have proper look at it yet done quick fix .Removed passenger out let pipes and blocked up outlet .Then disconnected drivers side rear pipe and ran suitable tube behind center consol to passenger footwell .gives heat to both sides of car .When weather improves will try to do proper repair i supect it to be temp solenoid on heater unit have found location for drivers side one but cant find passenger one .
there is not enough freon in the system or doors problems, check heater funtion to see if it heat all windows,if it work it need to be check with AC gauges or machine for it.
there should be a small valve attached to a hose coming from the engine into the firewall this valve directs the hot engine coolant into the heater radiator in the heater box it probably is closed open it and, you should have heat then: it should be easy to find the reason it was closed
Something similar happened in my Jeep last winter...except mine was only the driver's side. The passenger side
blew hot air when heater was on, but the driver's side blew cold air.
The solution for me was to replace something called the 'blend air
door'. It fixed the problem but cost me nearly $500.00. Hope this
helps...
The blend door on the passenger side has broken. Jeep has made a replacement section for the heater box assembly so you don't have to buy the whole thing. You will need to remove the heater/A/C box to replace the part. I have done quite a few of these repairs to fix the problem
heater on drivers side is cold, on passenger side heater work accordingly.
