I know where the fuse box is but which is the fuse for the brake lights?
Brake lights is controled from "brake light switch", generally, this is located on top back side brake pedal.

Fuse #26 (7.5 Amp) in the passenger compartment fuse box. It is referred to as the brake pedal switch fuse. It alos provides power to the following, unless these other circuits are dead the fuse is not the problem. PATS Transceiver, Brake shift interlock solenoid, Brake pedal switch, Automatic transmission relay coil, Reverse switch (back-up lamps

You can purcahse a tester which will connect into the F-150's wiring harnes. If the led lights up, the problem is witht he trailer's wiring harness. this tester will indicate the proper operation of the brake light and turn signals.

Here's a couple of things you can try. First, disconnect the positive battery terminal on the battery for 5 minutes or so. If this doesn't make the light go out and stay out then I would take it by your local auto parts store, they will check for any trouble codes free of charge and that will point you in the right direction.
