Lincoln LS2000, transmission hesitates to shift from park into any gear. No problems with shifting through gears in regular driving. Is this a major repair? Only 113,000 mi.

If you mean the one that let's the transmission shift gears while your already driving it's in the transmission pan and the fluid must be drained to axcess it///////if you mean gear shift interlock solenoid it's on the steering column behind the vinyl shroud on the top left side of the column I saw both your questions so here's both answers if your problem is that you can get it out of park the shifter tube that's connected to the lever arm you use to select the gears may have broken after you step on the brake your still stuck in park also if this is the problem check your brake light fuses and bulbs if they are blown the safety features kick in and you can't get it out of park till the brake lights are working

Disconnect shift cable from transmission linkage and try to manually put transmission in drive gear ( make sure wheels chocked/park brake on ). If transmission goes into drive gear, suspect a shift cable or shifter assembly problem. If you can't manually shift into drive gear by hand with cable disconnected, suspect internal transmission/shift linkage issue

could be a selector failure. easiest to check first or internall drama with torqu converter ,one way clutch or other. these will require r@r n overhaul
