I have a 2002 Toyota Rav4, all of a sudden the alarm has started going off. I lock and set the alarm with the fob, and hours can pass and then the alarm goes off. When it first happened the battery was flat, so we thought that was the problem, and we called the AA who replaced it. However it's still happening. The car is running fine otherwise but am having to lock it manually and can't set the alarm for fear of it going off. HELP!!!

leave the ignition on for upto 30 minutes this will then over ride the immpb but change battery in remote much easier check with your local toyota dealer they will tell you the sequence

My ex girlfriend had a factory installed honda remote strt on her vehicle. It was activated by hitting the lock button two times in succession. Some vehicles use a combination of the lock-unlock buttons. try using some combinations on the remote, many "oem" remote starts are installed by aftermarket installers so who knows what they did as a start function, it could also have been changed by the previous owner.

Problem solved by ensuring there are no metallic objects around the cup holders. My wife had left a key and some coins there and these were interfering with the sensores situated beneath the cup holders. Bizarre but true.

yes theres is, try locking and unlocking the pass/side door with the key. you can check for power at the starter at the small wire if theres power at that wire when the key is held in the crank position then you have a bad starter try taping on starter while key is held in start if its starts when tapping then starter is bad, heres a diagram to show you were to tap and where to check for power, hope this helps.
