On replacing the radiator on a 1997 Thunderbird, it looks pretty straightforward, but reading the instructions for the radiator it says be carreful of the air bag sensors near the radiator, and the A/C is supported. Are those items I have to concern myself withy on a 97 T-bird when replacing the radiator?

It should be right on the side of the distributor, a small ( usually grey ) plastic type box with 4 connections on one end if i remember right.

U hit on the nail on the head, if the car runs fine with the MAF disconnected it is the MAF, but try cleaning it first, dirt gets on the little heated wire of the sensor and screws up the signal, sometimes cleaning it with MAF spray cleaner takes care of the issue, the MAF is expensive, the spray cleaner made by CRC is available at most parts stores now. By the way the way u checked the MAF is how I did it in the dealer.
