1994 Ford Ranger 4l v6 overheating, i checked the hoses, the belt, the fan and topped up the coolant. i drove over some rough terrain last night and right after the temp gauge went red.

Could be a stuck or worn out thermistat, also listen to the fans on the truck.. sometimes if they are electric they burn out or the sensor is burnt out

Overheating

BELOW list is compiled from our staff with a more likely cause of overheating.

Radiator cap failure. Must be able to handle 15 psi tested.
Antifreeze failure. Has the coolant been tested or changed in the last few years?
Does the cooling fan
cycle?
Clogged radiator.
Thermostat
failure. Thermostat's do fail, you you have any memory of changing it?
Head gasket. This problum you would tend to never be able to get the air out of the radiator, lots of small bubbles. if this is your problem seek provisional help this problem only get worse not better.

Hope these tips guide you to the solution to your problem

Streetka car alarm

Hi Sophie Probably just the hood store lid.
Unlock the hood. Pull up the rear screen and open the hood store lid. Slam the hood store lid shut making that the locks on BOTH sides are holding it down and then replace the hood. The alarm will not set correctly unless both the locks are in position. Adrian

Bubbling during idling or low speed

you mean 70-80 kph? because in mph that is very fast! check your thermostat, and if its not a problem with the thermostat sticking , it may be a problem with your water pump
