My zipper windows don't work anymore...

The teeth don't close and its hard to work with...how can I fix it?
We have some lube stuff that a dealer gave us, but that's not helpful. Somehow one pull came off both sides of the zipper, and the other for that window doesnt pull the sides together enough to shut it. The pull can be forced along the teeth but they don't close, just open on both sides. Do I have to buy a new skin? Is there a fix?

There is no fix.
The top has to be installed and pulled back along the sides so you have minimal gap at the zippers.
You can also get a new top.

Zipper will not work on the rear window. Trying to determine if I need to replace the rear window. OEM top, believe it is made by Besttop, sunrider version. Have had problems with this window for last...

Have you confirmed the alignment of the lead/end part of the open-side of the zip, with the closed/slider side.?
Getting the first bit aligned properly it vital.
Whether it's a metal or nylon zip, a bit of lubricating spray will help get the two sides going.
You may need to get a hairdryer (or heat gun if you're very, very careful) to warm-up the cover to allow it to stretch into position, if it's gone stiff in the garage whilst you've not been using it.?
Don't force it, ease it.
Forcing the zipper is likely to tear the stitching &/or the vinyl.
Best of luck.

1998 vw polo. the front manual window is hard to close and open. what is the easiest way to fix

Shoot WD-40 into the assy. Chean tracks. Remove door panel and check alignment guides on the front and rear of the window tracks. Check for a bend in any of the regulator arms. Lube the mechanism with the recommended lubricant.

Driver side power window stuck in down position, all other windows functioning normally. What are the possible causes, fuses? Motor? or Switch?

joe2 mercs is right, and that is the $ fix/proper fix, but first If window motor is doing nothing, stuck, ...try this....

NO COST and fast PROCEDURE TO try to FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.

7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

Driverside electric window will not close

there are two metal terminals inside which actuate the window mech, now what happens is because the terminals constantly spark (ever so slightly) everytime you hit the switch it blackens the terminals and as the driverside is most used its always the first to go, a good way to test this is to wiggle the switch when pressing down on it and this should help make a connection, to fix permanently, ever so gently take out the power window switch and disassemble it there will be two lugs that come off the window switch you are wishing to fix, they are in the center of the switch at the pivot point, they are the only things that hold the switch top on, be carefull not to break thoes lugs or the housing they are in and gently pry the switch out, be carefull as there are 2-4 small springs and two brass terminals that you cannot loose or your screwed, clean the two long brass terminals with a fine sand paper and clean out all greassy stuff they put in there, now a very light amount of vasalene only on the parts that appear to need lube (springs etc) and put the switch back to gether VOILA should work like new. hope this has helped. matt

Driver's Side Window Won't Stay Up

As mentioned here, this worked for me on a 55 reg:

Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Then follow the calibrate instructions that can be found under "Windows" in the owner's manual. Took less than 5 minutes in all to fix.
