I have a 2004 chevrolet, Aveo. I have taken my car to the dealer twice for the air bag warning light coming on, and they cleaned the wire connection and fixed it. For the pass year the light has been on, also the clock works some times and then the light goes out and when it comes back on it reads 0100. Both these problems I lived with. Now I am having a problem with check engine light coming on and going back off. The two codes are U2105 and P0700. The car is running fine. I took it to the dealer and the light off but it's back. Can you help

I have both of those same codes, but I also have a 3rd code, U0101 - Lost comm. with TCM (Transmission Control Module).

I can feel the tranny slipping between gears sometimes, but usually only when the light is on. I spoke with a guy who thinks the connection is faulty and it could be as simple as opening the panel and making sure it's in there good. The tranny seems fine as long as the light is off, but when the light is on, it starts to slip. Any suggestions on fixing it w/o taking it to an expensive shop?

1. There is a recall on the clock!!!

2. The 2 codes you have, lead me to the Transmission Control modual, Is there a 3rd code with those 2?? If so it would narro it down for me

3. From all my reserch for the air bag it leads to the Air Bag Diagnostic Unit, about $200.00, on line. Dealer cost is $240.00 plus labor. If under warrenty, they dont want to change...and eat the cost..

There is also a control modual under dash behind heater controls...which has something to do with the clock and a few other things???? Have not had the chance to get into it????

I have a 2010 chevy aveo. The signal relay for the turn signal clicks constantly when not using the flashers or the blinkers. I replaced the relay and it still clicks. not sure what is causing this.

It may be a grounding problem in the wiring.. probably the turn signal switch that is located inside the steering column..These switches have plastic parts that can crack and close a circuit. You need a dealer repair as there are various sensors and sensitive wiring inside the column that controls deployment of the air bag.

I have a 2009 Chevy Aveo. When I start the car

Is it a 2009 or a 2005 do not mess with the air bag system unless you really know what you are doing.
I have found that this usually the sdm (the main module for the air bag system). Really needs to go to the dealer.

Air bag

The unconditional illumination of the Airbag Warning Light is mainly a result of movement or displacement of the Side Impact Wiring Harness and/or Side Impact Wiring Harness Connector which connects to the Adjustable Seat Cushion Assembly. It is very risky to drive a car with the light illuminated because this light is practically not a alert or System Failure but it tells the user that driving the car is dangerous as if a crash situation happens, the air bags will not come up and adding to the user's insecurity level in the car. Take it to a mechanic or a Authorized Dealer to get the Connector and Harness Assembly checked so that no loose connection is there.

Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Why can't anyone fix the SRS?

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

Air bag waring light came on for no apparent reason

Possible trouble areas are drivers side air bag, spiral cable in column, wiring to the air bag sensor assembly or the sensor assembly its self. Without a competent technician using the proper diag tools it would hard to pin point the problem.

2004 Chevrolet Aveo Brake lights not working

A couple of days ago my brake lights on my 2004 Chevy Aveo wouldn't work, so I attempted to remove the lamp covers to check the bulbs. Also, before this my shifter would get stuck in park and could only be released by pressing the unlock gadget next to the shifter. Back to the brakes...Well, you open the trunk and remove the two screws just like the manual said, but it was very hard to pull off. There's 2 prongs holding the other half of the light on. The lamp will come loose by prying it (very hard). You think the cover will break, but it'll come loose. The bulbs were all OK.

After much frustration and internet info, the STOP LAMP SWITCH, GM#96436331 ($9.30 at Chevy dealer), which is located under the dash and has contact with the brake pedal, was defective. Once replaced, both my brake lights AND SHIFTING problems were cured. So if the brake lights suddenly don't work or you have problems getting the vehicle out of park, check the switch by pushing the prong (end that has contact with brake) of the switch in and out. If it doesn't retract smoothly...that's the PROBLEM. Good Luck.

Chronic problem with airbag light staying on.

Not sure of the year of your car, but there was a recall to resecure the harness connector. If it is 2005 the entire airbag harness should be replaced, Sorry only the dealer can access the air bag info.
