Hello and welcome. sounds like the throttle body may be just dirty. remove hose from air cleaner to the throttle body. clean out the throttle body bore and around the throttle body with some throttle body cleaner. then retest and see if the problem is repaired

2006 Chevy Monte Carlo was running perfect. I went to have supper, came out and only interior lights came on. No start nothing?? Help.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

That sounds like a flat battery, you left the lights on or something.

Put the headlights on and turn the key to start. If the lights dim to a yellow glow worm, the battery is flat.

1987 MCSS 305 5.0 4 BBL. WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKES ALL LIGHTS DIM & ALT GAUGE DROPS TO 5. ANY SUGGESTIONS

you possibly have worn contact brushes in altrenator so when motor revs drop the alternator can keep up with power demand also check battery & all batt cables check alternator drive belt

97 monte carlo will not start

if you remove the battery and charge it than reinstall (make shore all lighting and non essentals are off) and if the car runs for awhile then the problem most likely is with the alternator
