Filter is behind fuel tank , requires quick connect tools on inlet. they can be perchased in part stores. the other two lines just require a couple kus words but just depress the blue & green tabs too remove lines. releave fuel pressure at engine compartment test valve on fuel rail to injectors first. it will still make a mess.

Where would the fuse or relay for fuel pump be located in my 2003 ion

Look in the interior fuse block. It is located on the drivers side of the center counsel, just to the right or where our right leg would be. You will need to remove the trim panel. The fuses will be labeled on the inside of the panel. I have a 2004 saturn ion and it won't start. I think it's gas related. Where and how do I replace gas sensors/filters or fuel pump? What do I try and replace first? How do I I tell which is bad?

If you haven't replaced the fuel filter in the last year or so, do it now-basic maintenance.
Check if the pump is working by turning key to ON (not crank), and listen for the pump in the tank to come on for a couple of seconds. Should hear a short hum or buzz verifying tank is working. If you don't hear it come on, either the pump is bad, or power is not reaching it. May have to pull the pump connector off at tank, and check for 12 volts on pump wire when someone cranks the car. If power there, the pump must be bad. If no power there at pump, check fuses for pump and fuel pump relay.

2004 Saturn Ion oil change

Oil drain plug is its on the back passenger side of the engine out of sight unless you under the car itself .

It's a cartridge filter that goes into a canister. You'll need a 32mm oil filter canister socket to remove the cover to access the filter. You can find it at PepBoys for less than $10 by the other oil change supplies.

Thank you for your suggestions and I did find out that the check engine light is on. I don't know if my daughter's 2004 4-door Saturn Ion is a lemon are what. Since the engine light is on ; in addition to...

Your going to have to get the car scanned for the DTC codes, Auto Zone and most repair shops can scan for the DTC codes but note Auto Zone scan free of charge. The DTC code will indicate the issues than needs to be addressed to get your car running 100% again. It cold be as simple as a dirty fuel filter and will need to be replaced, Note and dirty fuel filter will make the fuel pump work harder cause it to have a shorter life and the fuel pressure may be getting too low now for the fuel injectors to work properly. Have the car scanned for the DTC codes and replace the fuel filter which is recommend every 15,000 miles or once a year. Good luck and keep me posted.

I need to find the fuel filter on a 2004 saturn ion 3. The car is running rough, and throwing a P0300 code at me. I have replaced the coil pack, plugs, both oxygen sensors, and the catalytic converter....

Check your plugs, check the ign module, test the injectors, take a fuel sample and make sure there isnt water in your fuel, if all these test good perform a compression test. if the compression test fails replace the head. if the compression test is good. check the timing

2004 Saturn Ion

Try checking the fuel filter or the fuel pump. Sometimes if you run the fuel until it is almost empty, it pulls debri off the bottom of the fuel tank and it gets stuck in the fuel filter. It them starves your engine for fuel. Sometimes if you bang on the fuel pump, it will loosen some of this debri, and the vehicle may start, or you may just need to replace the whole fuel pump.
