You could have a bad injector, ohm the resistance of each one. they should all match. I am thinking maybe 14 ohms but could be wrong, check specs for your car. you need to at least narrow down which cylinder then check for spark on that cylinder while the miss is happening. some of these 3.8 engines would melt the plastic intake manifold at the egr passage and leak coolant into the cylinders, are you losing coolant?

SOURCE: crank no start 94 chev lumina

Hmm, been a while since I played with one of them, but I do recall a simular problem. Try this,,, locate your ECM that you replaced, find the orange wire, and trace it back. I have found breaks in this wire in different places, mostly in the harness running under the rad support. The orange wire is a power wire for the ECM.

SOURCE: when attempting to touch gas it dies, will idle in

sounds like it is starving for fuel. check fuel filter to see if it is clogged. also make sure fuel pump pressure is ok.

SOURCE: how do you change a speedomotor cable on a 1991

This vehicle does not have a cable. It has a vehicle speed sensor. It is on the transmission on the passengers side axle by the tail shaft. If you know some one with a scan tool then you can see if you are getting a signal. If you are then it could be the instrument cluster.Which is the speedometer itself.Hope this helps.

91 Lumina won't stay running; see lots of same question for same car but no problem solvers....Please help.

On electronic fuel injection pumping an pumping an pumping the gas pedal does nothing without the engine running ! Pushing the gas pedal to the floor will cause the PCM - engine computer to go into clear flood mode .

You have some very interesting ideas here , but not really how it works or is !

The vehicle will go into closed loop fuel control when the engine coolant temp reaches a definded temp an the O2 sensor get hot.

She would run for a couple minutes and die which is open loop when running, closed loop is when the sensors kick and it would die. Pulled spark plugs, they were black meaning no spark. Can only be 2

Black spark plugs indecate a rich condition , over fueled , wet spark plugs indecate no spark .

98 chev 3.1L runs rough and dies at idle

Check the DIS module or injectors. Check to make sure you have a spark on each cylinder. One cylinder could be misfiring
