Yes you have to take the steering wheel off, next you will need to take off the round pressure plate that is secured with a C pin around the inner column(behind the plate is a big spring, remove). after that you will need to remove the plastic switches behind the pressure plate. there is a screw on the right that holds in the ignition. after removing the screw the ignition should come right on out. put in the new ignition and make sure to fasten the screw back on. replace the plastic switches and put on the pressure plate (which is very hard to do and remember to fasten it back on with the tiny C clip and make sure that your spring is BEHIND the plate) then bolt back on your steering wheel
